Chelsea showed renewed confidence after their recent victory over Bolton – and seemed deterined to win again against Aston Villa. Chelsea began the match buoyed from ending their worst set of results for 11 years in last Wednesday night’s 1-0 defeat of Bolton.

Didier Drogba and John Terry scored goals in the final six minutes at Stamford Bridge. However Chelsea’s amazing late try was in vain as Aston Villa’s Coaram Clark scored an equalizer at game’s end leaving the match in a draw.

Frank Lampard’s penalty was cancelled out by Ashley Young’s goal and Emile Heskey’s header giving Villa the lead.

Chelsea is cirrently in fifth place, six points behind Manchester United.

Chelsea’s manager Carlo Ancelotti being criticized. Villa’s manager, Gerard Houllier, ended a run of six defeats in seven games.
